Harbor Freight

Yeah we ended up going with the community garden layout I mentioned last week. The city approved the space behind the recreation center so we can start prepping the ground this Saturday.

I lined up about eight volunteers so far and a few more said they might come depending on their schedules. We need to rent a tiller for the morning which I already reserved at the hardware store.

For the raised beds we decided to go with untreated cedar since it lasts longer and wont leach anything into the soil. The seed order arrived yesterday and I sorted everything by planting season.

We also got a donation of compost from the local landscaping company which really helped the budget. I still need to pick up some basic hand tools for volunteers who dont have their own. Let me know if you think we should also put in a small seating area or focus entirely on the planting beds for now.

So I talked to the team about the lunch arrangement for next Tuesday and everyone seemed okay with the rotating schedule idea.

We have six people confirmed for the first shift and four for the second shift so coverage should be fine. The Italian place on Main Street can do a group order with about twenty minutes notice which makes it easy.

I suggested we collect orders by Monday afternoon so they have time to prepare everything. For anyone with dietary restrictions they can either note it on the order or bring their own meal.

We also need to decide if we want to eat in the break room or use the patio since the weather is supposed to be nice. I think the patio would be more relaxing but we might need to bring extra chairs. I can grab some from the storage closet if needed. Let me know if you want me to send out the order form today or wait until tomorrow morning.
