I wanted to follow up on your question about the hiking trails near Mount R=
ainier. The Skyline Trail is absolutely worth the effort especially in late=
July when the wildflowers are at their peak. You will want to start early =
because the parking lot fills up fast by eight in the morning. The elevatio=
n gain is steady but not punishing and the views of the mountain are specta=
cular from the very first mile. If you are looking for something less crowd=
ed I would recommend the Summerland Trail which is a bit longer but offers =
more solitude and some really beautiful meadow sections. Make sure you brin=
g layers because the weather can shift quickly even in summer. I would also=
suggest downloading a map ahead of time because cell service is spotty onc=
