I meant to reply earlier, but the afternoon got away from me and then I stepped outside for some air. I do think the plan you suggested makes sense, especially if the goal is to keep things simple and not overthink every detail.
I usually do better when I write down the first three steps and ignore everything that comes after that. Once I start moving, the rest sorts itself out faster than I expect. If I stare at the whole list too long, I drift and start reorganizing trivial things instead of doing what matters.
