Yes, I think the raised beds will work well for carrots and tomatoes, though I’m still debating whether to add a second layer to keep the rabbits out. The soil mix we used last year had too much clay, so I’ll try a compost blend this time and see if drainage improves. Also, I ordered a couple of seedlings from the nursery—they recommended a dwarf variety for sunrooms, but I’m not sure it will get enough light. Maybe I’ll rotate the pots weekly. Let me know if you have any tips for watering when we’re away for a weekend.

We finally settled on a route that goes through the mountains, but I’m a bit worried about the lodging situation in early October. I checked a few places and they’re already booking up fast, so we may need to adjust our schedule. I saw that the main park entrance has a new reservation system, which might help avoid long waits. If you have time, could you look into the camping permits? I think we only need two nights. Also, the forecast suggests cooler evenings, so bring an extra layer.
