Yeah I finally tried that pasta recipe you sent me last month. It turned out pretty well actually. I was a bit nervous about the sauce because I always manage to burn garlic but I watched it closely this time. The key was really just letting the tomatoes simmer long enough to break down. I added a bit of tYf7oZMeRm basil from the plant on my windowsill which gave it a nice fresh taste. Next time I might try it with some mushrooms or maybe even zucchini. The whole thing took about 45 minutes which felt reasonable for a weeknight dinner. I served it with a simple side salad and some crusty bread. Definitely a keeper. Let me know if you have any other easy recipes like that one. I'm trying to cook more at home instead of ordering takeout. It's been fun experimenting with different ingredients and techniques.

We finally did that hike we have been talking about for months. Started early Saturday morning around 7 AM and the weather could not have been more perfect. The trail was about 6 miles round trip with some moderate elevation gain. Nothing too crazy but enough to get the heart rate going. There was a stream crossing about halfway through that was really pretty. We stopped there for a snack and just enjoyed the quiet for a while. Made it to the summit around 10 and the view was absolutely worth it. Could see the whole valley below with the mist still lifting off the trees. Packed sandwiches and ate lunch up there before heading back down. Total time was about 4 and a half hours with breaks. Already looking at maps for next weekend adventure. Thinking of trying one with a lake at the end this time. Want to bring a book and just sit by the water for a while.
