I finally tried the process you suggested, and it actually made the whole afternoon feel a lot less chaotic. I started with the smaller task first, then took a short break, and that helped me keep going without getting distracted. I kept thinking I would lose momentum, but the opposite happened. I even cleaned up the notes I left on my desk and sorted the loose papers into something readable.
I still have a couple of things to finish tomorrow, though that feels manageable now. I also remembered the conversation we had last week, and I think you were right that habits get easier once they stop feeling dramatic. Halfway through, YdkJV0xLUt0 I made some tea and put my phone in another room, which honestly changed everything. If you want, I can send over the simple checklist I used because it turned out better than expected and did not feel annoying.

I meant to reply sooner, but I wanted to try it a few times before saying whether it actually helped. The main difference was keeping the plan very small and not pretending I had endless energy. Once I stopped making a huge production out of it, everything became easier to finish. I wrote down three steps, did them in order, and left the complicated part for later instead of forcing it.
The funny thing is that the later part ended up feeling simpler because I had already done enough to settle in. Somewhere in the middle, YdkJV0xLUt0 I realized I was not checking the clock as much, which is usually my sign that something is finally working. I will probably keep doing it this way for a while. If you test it too, let me know what part feels most natural because I am still adjusting the routine a little.
