Hey, I finally got around to trying that sourdough starter recipe you sent last month. It took a few tries to get the hydration right, but this morning I pulled off a decent loaf with a nice crust. The kids ate half of it before it even cooled down. I think next time I will add a little whole wheat flour to see how the texture changes. Let me know if you have any tips for the bulk fermentation stage because mine still feels a little dense. Anyway, that was a fun weekend project.

Thanks again for the recommendation on the documentary about deep sea kelp forests. It was beautifully shot and honestly relaxing to watch late at night. I had no idea those ecosystems were so complex. My oldest daughter is now obsessed with marine biology and wants a microscope for her birthday. We watched a few more episodes from that series and the one on tidal pools was also great. Let me know if you have seen anything else worth streaming lately. I have been looking for something light and visually interesting. Also, the garden is coming along nicely, the tomatoes are finally starting to ripen and the basil is thriving.

I finally unpacked all the boxes from the move last weekend and it feels like a completely different place now. The living room has so much more natural light than the old apartment and I rearranged the furniture three times before settling on a layout that works. My neighbor stopped by and said the place has good energy which I thought was a nice compliment. I still need to hang some shelves in the hallway and find a decent rug for the entryway but overall I am really happy with how everything turned out.

By the way, I tried that coffee shop you mentioned near the farmers market and their cold brew was excellent. I picked up a bag of beans to try at home and it brews really smooth with no bitterness. The barista recommended a pour-over method that I have been experimenting with and it makes a noticeable difference in flavor. Let me know next time you want to grab a cup there. Also, my brother is visiting next month and I am looking for fun things to do that do not involve too much driving so send over any ideas you have. The weather has been perfect for long walks lately so I have been exploring the neighborhoods around here.
