I was just thinking about that book you recommended last month. I finally got around to starting it over the weekend and honestly I wasn't sure I would like it at first because the pacing felt slow in the opening chapters but then somewhere around page 60 everything clicked and I could not put it down. I ended up finishing it at 2am on Sunday which was a terrible decision because I had to be up early Monday but it was totally worth it. The character development really carried the story for me especially the way the author built out the backstory of the main character's childhood friend in that one chapter. Have you read anything else by that author or was that your first one too I might look for another book by them if you have a recommendation. Anyway just wanted to share that I finally got around to it and really enjoyed it thanks for the suggestion.
Oh and on another topic I finally tried that sourdough starter recipe you sent me. First attempt was a total disaster I think I killed the yeast somehow but the second batch actually turned out pretty decent. I brought some to the office and a couple people asked for the recipe so I guess it was a success.

You know I finally got around to organizing my garage last weekend and I am honestly shocked at how much stuff I had accumulated over the years. I found three boxes of old textbooks from college that I swear I donated twice already but they just keep reappearing like some kind of academic boomerang. I also came across a photo album from a trip I took to the mountains about six years ago and it made me realize I haven't taken a proper vacation in way too long. The whole process took way longer than I thought it would because I kept stopping to look through things and reminisce. I ended up filling seven trash bags with donations and still have a pile of stuff I need to sort through for recycling. My neighbor saw me hauling bags out and came over to chat and now we are planning a neighborhood cleanup day next month which should be interesting. Anyway that was my weekend how was yours.
I finally took down that old shelf in the living room and patched the holes in the wall. It looks so much better now but I still need to paint over the patches the bright white spackle really stands out against the slightly off-white wall color. One thing always leads to another I swear.
