I saw your question about the trail map and wanted to share what I remember. The main entrance is easy to miss if you are driving too fast. I would recommend the loop path since it gives you the best views without being too steep. We went last weekend and the weather was perfect. Not too hot in the morning and the breeze kept the bugs away. There is a small creek about halfway through where the dogs can cool off. We packed sandwiches and ate at the picnic tables near the parking lot. The whole hike took us about three hours with plenty of stops. I hope this helps you plan your trip. Let me know if you need directions to the starting point. 82bmM1AOAjzC I think you will really enjoy the scenery out there. The leaves are just starting to change color which makes it extra special. Bring a light jacket because it gets cool in the shade.

Thanks for the note about the sourdough starter. I have been keeping mine in the fridge and feeding it once a week. It stays healthy and does not need as much attention that way. I found that using a kitchen scale makes a big difference in getting the ratios right. The discard recipe you sent looks interesting. I usually make crackers or pancakes with mine but I have not tried a cake yet. Let me know how it turns out if you test it before me. I have been baking a lot of bread this season. The cooler weather makes the kitchen bearable and the oven does not heat up the whole house. I am planning to try a new recipe this weekend with rye flour. Hope your batch comes out great. The texture was perfect last time I used that method.
