Yeah I finally got around to watching that documentary you recommended. The cinematography was stunning especially the aerial footage of the coastline. I had no idea about some of the historical context they uncovered during production. My partner watched it with me and we both agreed it was one of the better things we have seen this year. We followed it up with a couple episodes of that new series everyone is talking about. The one with the detective relocating from Chicago. It started a bit slow but by episode three we were completely hooked. We ended up binge watching the rest over the long weekend. The character development was really strong and the plot twists kept us guessing until the very end. Let me know if you have any other recommendations. We are always looking for something good to watch on weekends. Also I finally tried that pasta recipe you sent me a while back. It turned out great even though I had to substitute a few ingredients. The sauce was especially flavorful. I will definitely be making it again soon.

My brother stopped by yesterday and tried some of the leftovers. He asked for the recipe too so I forwarded your email to him. We are planning a small get together next month and I think I will make it for everyone. Let me know if you have any sides that go well with it. I was thinking a simple salad and some crusty bread would work. Also I finally signed up for that photography workshop we talked about. The first session is next Saturday morning. I am a little nervous but really excited to learn something new. It will be nice to get out of the house and try a different creative outlet for a change.

We finally finished repainting the living room over the long weekend. It took longer than expected because we decided to patch some cracks in the ceiling first. The color looks completely different now in natural light compared to the paint swatch. But we are happy with how it turned out. My friend helped us move the furniture around and we rearranged the layout completely. It feels like a whole new space now. We are thinking about getting new curtains next since the old ones are faded and do not really match the new vibe. Also I started looking into getting a couple indoor plants to brighten up the corners. Something low maintenance like a snake plant or pothos would be ideal. If you have any suggestions let me know. I also signed up for that pottery class I mentioned. The first session is next Tuesday evening. I am a little nervous but excited to try something hands on for a change. It should be a nice break from sitting at a desk all day. I will let you know how it goes after the first class.

My neighbor saw me carrying the paint cans and offered to help with the trim work. He used to work as a painter so he had some great tips. We ended up taping everything off and using a high quality brush for the edges. The difference is night and day compared to my first attempt. I am already thinking about which room to tackle next. Maybe the guest bedroom since it still has that builder grade beige from when we moved in. Let me know if you have any color suggestions. We tend to lean toward warm neutrals but I am open to trying something bolder in a smaller space.
