I think the best approach for the pot roast would be to season it well and let it cook low and slow. I usually set the oven to around 275 and let it go for about three hours depending on the size. You can add some root vegetables about an hour before it finishes. The key is to not rush it. I learned that the hard way when I tried to speed things up once and the meat came out tough. Let me know if you want me to send over the exact recipe I use. I also find that letting the meat rest for at least ten minutes before slicing makes a big difference in how tender it turns out. If you are short on time you could use a slow cooker instead just set it on low in the morning and it will be ready by dinner. I would recommend browning the meat first even if you use the slow cooker as it adds a lot more depth to the final dish. The vegetables should be cut into uniform pieces so they cook evenly. Carrots onions and celery work well. You can also add a bay leaf and some thyme for extra aroma.

4 Ribeyes
4 New York Strips
6 Top Sirloins
Quantities are determined by program allocation. One box per household.
Each box is normally priced over $600. Recipients will not be billed for the sampler. This offer concludes Tomorrow.
Thank you for taking a moment to review this offer.
We ended up changing our route for the weekend trip because the forecast showed rain on Saturday. Instead of the coastal trail we decided to head inland where the weather should be clearer. I reserved a couple of campsites near the lake and they have spots available for tents and small trailers. The plan is to arrive Friday afternoon and set up before dark. I will bring the cooking gear and the cooler. If you want to join just let me know and I can add another site to the reservation. The hiking trails around the lake are moderate so nothing too strenuous. There is a lookout point about two miles in that has a good view of the valley. We could also do some fishing if anyone is interested. I have extra rods you can borrow. The general store near the entrance sells bait and basic supplies. Let me know what you think about the dates and I will confirm the sites.
