Hi, thanks for your note about the trail maintenance schedule for next month. I checked with the ranger station and they confirmed we can reserve the work site for either the second or third Saturday. The toolshed should have enough loppers and pruning saws for everyone, but we may need to bring extra work gloves and trash bags. I think we should aim for the second Saturday since the forecast tends to be drier that week. Also, they mentioned the parking area near the trailhead can accommodate about twelve cars. Could you send a reminder to the group about sturdy boots and long pants? I will bring a cooler with water and snacks. Let me know if you think we should adjust the start time from 8:00 to 7:30 to get more done before the heat. I can also coordinate with the volunteer coordinator about any new safety guidelines. Looking forward to getting out there and making a difference on the trail.

Thank you for being a valued resident in your community. We appreciate your trust in our roadside support program.
I looked into the community garden plots for next season and wanted to share what I found. The coordinator mentioned they have twelve raised beds available on a first-come basis, and the soil testing should be completed by early April. I think we should sign up for two adjacent plots so we can share tools and water access. They also offer a composting workshop on the second Tuesday of next month that I plan to attend. Could you bring the seed catalog on Saturday so we can decide between tomatoes and peppers? I will bring a notebook and we can sketch out the layout. The garden committee asks that each plot be planted by May 1 to keep the space active. I can handle the initial tilling if you can manage the trellis setup. Also, they have a new drip irrigation system that we could test this year. Let me know if you want to split the cost of a soaker hose. I am looking forward to getting our hands dirty and seeing what we can grow together this season.
