I was just telling my friend about that hiking trail we did last weekend. The weather was perfect and the views from the top were absolutely stunning. We started early around 7am and the fog was just lifting off the valley floor. The trail was a bit muddy from the rain earlier in the week but nothing too bad. We packed sandwiches and ate them at the summit overlooking the lake. I'm thinking of going back next month when the leaves start changing colors. My dog loved it too she was running around chasing squirrels the whole time. I should probably get her a better leash though she nearly pulled me down a hill when she spotted a deer. Anyway let me know if you want to join next time. I know you mentioned you've been wanting to get out more. The drive there is about an hour but totally worth it. I heard there's another trail on the G4c5tNYYTIRa1XZ other side of the ridge that connects to a waterfall but we didn't have time to check it out. Maybe next trip we can do the full loop.

I've been reading that book you recommended and I can't put it down. The main character is so well developed and the plot twists keep me guessing. I'm about halfway through and I just got to the part where the detective finds the hidden letter in the old house. I had no idea that was coming. The way the author describes the setting makes me feel like I'm right there in that foggy seaside town. I finished another book last week that was similar in style but not quite as engaging. This one really pulls you in from the first chapter. I've been staying up way too late reading honestly. My wife keeps telling me to put the book down and go to sleep but I just need to finish one more chapter. You know how that goes. I'll bring it to the gathering this weekend so we can talk about it. Have you finished it yet? I don't want to spoil anything for you. The audiobook narrator does a fantastic job with the voices too if that's more your style. I might listen to it again on my commute next week.
