Regarding your question about the trail conditions for this weekend, I checked with the ranger station yesterday and they said the path is mostly clear with just a few muddy patches near the creek crossing. I would suggest wearing boots with good traction and bringing an extra layer since it gets windy after noon. We should plan to start by eight if we want to reach the overlook before the clouds roll in. I will pack sandwiches and plenty of water for everyone. Let me know if you need to borrow my spare backpack. Also, I reserved a spot at the picnic area near the trailhead so we can rest and eat after the hike. The weather forecast looks promising with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid sixties. I think it will be a good day to be outdoors.

I also wanted to mention that the parking lot at the base should have enough space for all of us, but arriving early will help us secure a good spot. The trail is about four miles round trip with a moderate incline, so it should take us around two and a half hours including breaks.
